Preparing your Jewellery for a Shoot
Preparing Your Jewellery for Professional Product Photography
Preparing your Jewellery is more complicated than it sounds! There are several things that your photographs will show that you will not be able to see with the naked eye.
In Jewellery Photography it’s crucial to ensure that your product images accurately represent your brand and its values. Your product images should showcase the high quality of your products and convey a sense of trustworthiness to potential customers.
Professional jewellery photography can make all the difference in how your products are perceived. By investing in high-quality images, you can showcase the unique beauty of your jewellery and establish your brand as a leader in the industry. These images can also help you build a loyal customer base by ensuring that your products meet and exceed customer expectations.
The quality of your product images can make or break your brand’s reputation. By investing in professional jewellery photography, you can ensure that your products are presented in the best possible light, ultimately leading to increased sales and a stronger brand identity.
We have put together a Quick Guide on how to select and prepare your Jewellery for Photography just to help you put your best foot forward.
Make sure that they are Cleaned or Polished properly
When it comes to product photography, every single detail counts – even the smallest speck of dust or fingerprint. To ensure that your products look their best, it’s crucial to clean and polish them thoroughly before sending them for photography.
Don’t forget to clean the boxes too! Remember, while the naked eye may not notice these imperfections, the camera lens will capture every single one. By taking the time to properly clean your products, you can save yourself a lot of hassle and expense in post-production processing.
Select only the Best and Make sure that they have no defects or scratches
Sending high-quality products is key to achieving stunning professional jewellery photography results. Here are some tips to consider when selecting which items to send:
- Choose only the best-looking version of your product to showcase.
- Make sure the product is free from visible damage, defects, and scratches.
- Jewellery should have no missing gems and be properly polished beforehand.
- Look for small marks and polish marks, and handle products with gloves to reduce additional finger marks.
While we may be able to correct some issues in post-production for a minimal fee, it is best to save time and money by sending only the
We understand that you are familiar with your products and can distinguish between the Rose Gold and Diamond Rosetta for your Jewellery Photography ring and the Infinity Engagement Ring. However, as we will be seeing and photographing your products for the first time, you must label each item accurately before sending them to us.
When labeling your items, please avoid using any sticker labels or anything that may leave a mark or need to be removed from your product. Instead, individually wrap each item in plastic, bubble wrap, its box, or with paper, and attach a marked label to the wrapping or bag.
This labeling method will help us identify and distinguish each item easily while keeping them clean and in perfect condition for Jewellery Photography once they arrive at our studio. Please note that we use gloves and double-check each item during the shooting process, ensuring that you receive them back in the same condition as we received them.
Complete the K360 Check-in Sheet with your Product Details
After sanitizing, wrapping, and labeling your products, please fill out and send us the K360 Check-In form (which we will provide along with the booking). This form contains all the details of the items being shipped, such as SKU code, description, value, size, and more.
Not only does this aid in a seamless check-in process, it also allows us to keep track of your products while they are in our possession. Think of it as a control sheet we can both refer to.
Make note of special handling Instructions
We recognize that some items may require special instructions for assembly or setup before the shoot. Please let us know if you have any products like this beforehand, and on the K360 Check-in form. This is essential because we will be handling your product during the Jewellery Photography shoot, and we must display them in their intended manner.
Take care of your Products during transport – Safety First
It is of utmost importance that your products are packed securely and appropriately for their Jewellery Photography journey to us. Additionally, it’s crucial to speak with your insurer beforehand if you are sending high-value items and ensure that they are insured while in transit and for the time that they are with us.
As the product belongs to you, you are the only person who can prove an insurable loss of property for the claim to be approved you need to be able to showcase the financial loss.
Since the product is under your ownership, only you can provide evidence of property loss to have the insurance claim approved. To receive compensation, you must demonstrate a financial loss.
It’s essential to take extra precautions on your end to guarantee their safety throughout the entire process. Here are some things to keep in mind:
- Use bubble wrap, additional padding, and labeling for fragile items
- Make use of boxes to provide additional protection during shipping
